Afghanistan’s Getting Ready For Playing T20 World Cup

While the political perspectives of Afghanistan are unclear, the Cricket Board of the country announced that its national cricket team is currently preparing for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Many cricket fans have a worrying question today about the Afghanistan cricket team’s participation in the approaching T20 World Cup. However, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has officially confirmed the plans of the national cricket team to participate in the T20 World Cup starting in Dubai.

The Afghanistan cricket team’s media manager Hikmat Hassan said that there is no doubt in what concerns taking part in the competition. The management of the team is looking forward to taking part in the tri-series against West Indies and Australia to train for the ongoing event.

“Yes, we will play in the T20 World Cup. The preparations are on and the available players will be back to training in Kabul in the next few days. We are looking for a venue for the tri-series involving Australia and West Indies and that will be the best preparation for the showpiece event. We are speaking to some countries like Sri Lanka and also I think Malaysia. Let’s see how that pans out,” said Hassan to ANI.

Afghanistan is placed in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup along with New Zealand, Pakistan, a former champion India and two other qualifiers from Round 1. The first round will contain 8 teams including automatic qualifiers Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
