Indian Team Reaches Nottingham Ahead of Test Series Against England

It became known that Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who have been named as replacements for Avesh Khan (thumb fracture) and Washington Sundar (finger injury), are yet to join the Test team in England.

The Indian cricket team, led by Virat Kohli, reached Nottingham from Durham on Sunday. On August 4, there will be a training session in Nottingham before the first test against England at the Trent Bridge Cricket Stadium.

With a break of three weeks after the World Test Championship final in Southampton, the Indian team played a training match against the County Select XI from 20 to 22 July. Moreover, the Indian team continued to train until the final training session on Friday at the Chester-le-Street Stadium in Durham.

Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw were named as replacements for Avesh Khan (thumb fracture) and Washington Sundar (finger injury), unfortunately, they haven’t joined the test team in England yet. Khan and Sundar returned home. Before them, Shubman Gill has already gone back home after suffering a stress reaction to his left shin.

India Squad includes Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (captain), Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha, Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, and Abhimanyu Easwaran.

Standby players will be Arzan Nagwaswalla and Prasidh Krishna.
