Prithvi Shaw Expressed His Opinion

Shaw expressed his opinion.

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw described the strong bond he shares with tour captain and opener Shikhar Dhawan after India’s win in the first ODI.

The captain and fellow opener captain for the Sri Lanka series Shikhar Dhawan and Team India opener Prithvi Shaw share special bonds, Shaw says. One of the many highlights of the first ODI of the three-matched series at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday was Prithvi Shaw’s quick knock of 43 from 24 balls. In consequence of the match, India has gained dominance in scores over Sri Lanka and got a 1-0 lead in the series. Ishan Kishan (59) and Shikhar Dhawan (86) have become MVPs of the match.

“Shikhar Dhawan and I open together for Delhi Capitals. Although we were good friends before Delhi Capitals, but opening together has made our bond stronger,” Prithvi Shaw noted on Star Sports’ show Follow The Blues. They spend a lot of time relaxing together and talk a lot outside cricket and on the field.

Some thoughts of Shawn about playing for Team India were also touched upon in his interview. “When I play for India or any other team, I always put the team forward. So, obviously, I want to go there and win the series for India”, said the opener.

Prithvi Shaw has also noted that he is willing to use any opportunities at this tournament to show his best in matches.

The next ODI in the series between Sri Lanka and India will take place on Tuesday.

The unbeaten 43-run knock of Chamika Karunaratne’s assisted Sri Lanka post 262/9, although India took wickets at regular intervals earlier.

Indian players Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal provided their team with two wickets each.
