CSK IPL 2023 Trophy

The much-anticipated final match, originally scheduled for 28 May, was disrupted by heavy rain in Ahmedabad. As a result, the encounter was postponed to a reserve day, which fell on Monday, May 29. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and selected the field for the first innings. The Gujarat Titans took the field and showed amazing resilience against the Chennai bowlers. Sai Sudarshan was a formidable opponent, scoring an impressive 96 off 47 balls. The Titans finished their game with a total score of 214/4.

Chennai’s target was set at 215 points but due to a two-hour delay due to rain, it was revised to 171 points by DLS. Devon Conway and Ravindra Jadeja stood out in an exciting innings where almost every CSK batsman shone. The partnership of Conway and Ruthuraj Gaikwad at the start provided the necessary impetus for Chennai and the rest of the players including Ajinkya Rahane, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja continued the baton.

Unfortunately, MS Dhoni was removed without making a single knock, but despite some tough ‘death’ bowling by Mohit Sharma, Chennai Super Kings scored a remarkable five-wicket victory. With this win, Chennai Super Kings equalled Mumbai Indians in the number of IPL titles with both teams winning five titles each.

CSK IPL 2021 Trophy

The team played at its best in the Indian Premier League in 2021, finishing 1st and beating other teams, proving once again that it is one of the strongest teams in cricket.

Chennai Super Kings began their disappointing first match of the 2021 season with a loss to Delhi Capitals . After which the team gathered their strength and made their winning streak in 5 matches, but further they were defeated by Mumbai Indians. After the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, games in the premier league were canceled.

When the IPL resumed in UAE, the team made a winning streak of 4 matches, thus earning themselves a well-deserved place in the playoffs. CSK became the first team to make the playoffs in the 2021 season. Despite losing their last 3 games of the season, they were able to keep the top spot on the gridiron throughout the season. In Qualifier 1, CSK was able to win a game against the Delhi Capitals and advanced to the finals for the 9th time in their history. In the final, CSK showed their strength and skills against KKR and deservedly won their 4th IP title. Also worth highlighting was the play of Captain Dhoni, who won CSK by turning back the clock thanks to his flawless finishing skills. The bowlers also contributed a lot to their team’s magnificent contest.

CSK IPL 2018 Trophy

CSK has always been a team that has made the playoffs, but the IPL trophy has remained elusive the past few years. The team’s business had been going pretty badly in recent years when the team was suspended for two years in 2016 due to a management scandal in the betting business in 2013. Their return to IPL 2018 raised a lot of questions, but they answered all the negative talk with a resounding victory, winning the IRL title. Likewise, their return was met with thunderous applause by their fan base, drawing huge crowds to the stadium even during practice games.

The team proved that experience matters first and foremost. In a way, it was luck and fate that CSK won the IPL trophy in 2018. They found many factors in every game to earn their title at the end of the road. Whether it was Dwayne Bravo in the first championship game against Mumbai or Shane Watson in the final, CSK was relentless.

CSK finished second in the group stage on the points table with 18 points. As if fate had decided to play a joke on them, CSK faced Hyderabad again in the final and returned to first place. This time it was Shane Watson who rewound the clock to show his prowess.

Hitting first, Hyderabad posted an impressive 178/6 in 20 overs, a perfect score for the final. Watson, however, had other ideas. He won by a best 117 from 57 balls, helping CSU catch the target in just 18.3 overs and recording a stunning victory. Watson was named the best player of the match, and every fan was proud of CSK’s save.

CSK IPL 2011 Trophy

Winning their first title was impressive but the way CSK backed it up with a strong performance in the subsequent edition of the IPL was even better, In 2011, when two new teams were added to the IPL. The IPL Board announced that each franchise could keep no more than four players on their team, only three of whom could be Indian players, and the remaining international players would be put up for a mega auction. The team hired captain M.S. Dhoni, vice-captain Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay and all-purpose player Albie Morkel. In the tournament, they lost three of their first five games, leaving them at the bottom of the points table with ten teams. But then they won seven of their next eight games, finished second and made the playoffs. Then they beat the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 1 by 43 points to advance to the finals. The two teams met again in the finals and CSK won again.

It is worth highlighting that all the games up to the final were frantically fought, but the IPL final turned out to be completely one-sided. Murali Vijay, often known for his flair, took his game to a new level, scoring 95 in just 52 balls, which helped CSK record a 205/5 result in their 20 overs. It was always going to be difficult to get points on this scale, and RCB couldn’t get the points to reach the “Yellow” team, as the community called them. CSK won the IPL trophy for the second time in a row. Murali Vijay won Best Player of the Match for his outstanding 95 points, and Chris Gale took home the Player of the Series award. At the end of the final game, it was clearly evident that the team did not make a mistake in selecting the players who eventually led them to the title of the winner and the strongest cricket team in 2013.

CSK IPL 2010 Trophy

A great year of play for the team as they made such a strong statement that they won two major tournaments at once. Super Kings struggled in the first half of the regular season, winning only two games out of seven. In the next five games, however, they won four on the season. After a home game loss to the Delhi Daredevils, the team played a must-win game against Kings XI Punjab.  Thus, with seven wins in 14 matches, finished with the same number of points as the other three teams, resulting in two spots in the semifinals. Chennai placed third as they had the best run score among the four teams with 14 points. In the semifinals, the Super Kings scored a modest 142/7 in 20 overs against the reigning champions Deccan Chargers.

In the finals, the Dhoni-led team faced the Mumbai Indians in a tough match. Suresh Raina was in his element, cracking 35 off 57 balls and bringing CSK to 168/5.CSK won by 22 points and lifted the IPL trophy for the first time. Suresh Raina was named Best Player.
