IPL 2022: Youngest player in each team of the league

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has emerged as the most popular cricket league in the world. It has given opportunities to many young talents since its inception in 2008. The league trophy has a message in Sanskrit inscribed in its middle which reads: ‘Yatra Pratibha Avsara Prapnotihi’. The message translates to: ‘Where talent meets opportunity.’This year has seen the inclusion of a lot of young players. It would be a worthwhile exercise to see who is the youngest player in each team participating in the league this year.

Maheesh Theekshana (CSK)

Maheesh Theekshana is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer. He made his ODI debut on September 7, 2021 against South Africa, where he took a wicket with his first ball in ODI cricket. He ended up with figures of 4/37 in the match and played a role in Sri Lanka’s 2-1 series win.Theekshana made his international debut at the age of 21 – his current age – and is presently the CSK squad’s youngest player.

Abdul Samad (SRH)

Abdul Samad is a young Indian cricketer who plays for Jammu and Kashmir in domestic cricket. The young talent impressed everyone with his all-round performances in the recent edition of the IPL.Samad is the third cricketer from Jammu and Kashmir to feature in the IPL. He is one of the most promising young talents in the circuit and, at 20 years of age, has a long way to go. No wonder he was retained by SRH.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)

Yashasvi Jaiswal is an Indian cricketer who plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. He is known for his performances in the Under-19 World Cup 2022, where he was the leading run scorer. He made his IPL debut in 2020 for the Royals at the age of 20. Even currently, he is the youngest player in the Royals squad.

Ashok Sharma (KKR)

Ashok Sharma is one of the most promising up and coming fast bowlers in India and has impressed the selectors also. He was bought by KKR at the auction this year.Ashok has great control over the ball. His swing bowling is what caught the eye of the KKR camp. This 19-year-old will be looking to make an impact for the former champions.

Mayank Yadav (LSG)

Mayank Yadav is a fast bowler from New Delhi who has impressed the new team Lucknow Super Giants enough to be bought by them. He hasn’t played many List-A games, but has shown spark.Yadav is good at swinging the ball either way and bowls at a decent pace. The 19-year-old is all set to leave a mark in the upcoming edition of the IPL.

Yash Dhull (DC)

Yash Dhull…we are quite familiar with this name now. The future superstar had a blast in the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2022 and continued with the same form in domestic cricket, scoring two centuries on debut for Delhi.The 19-year-old opening batsman will play for Delhi Capitals in this edition of the IPL. Everyone will be looking forward to seeing this talented youngster perform in the toughest T20 league.

Raj Bawa (PBKS)

Raj Bawa was also a part of the 2022 Under-19 World Cup-winning Indian team. Bawa was the Player of the Match in the Final where he took a fifer and played a crucial knock of 35 runs off 54 balls.His performances in the World Cup were noticed by many cricket fans and IPL franchises as well. The 19-year-old all-rounder was bought by the Punjab Kings at the auction for ₹2 crores.
