ISL transfers

The transfer campaign has begun and many clubs are in a hurry to find necessary additions to their teams in advance of the new season. The Indian football community is waiting to get back to games in the next competitive season and clubs are in a hurry to sign new players to start their training. Last week we watched the transfers, and now it’s time to take stock.

We have prepared a compilation of the most significant Indian football moves in the past week:

Indian Super League

KBFC

Indian Super League’s (ISL) team Kerala Blasters has acknowledged the signing of  33-year-old footballer Harmanjot Khabra. He played for Bengaluru FC and Chennaiyin FC in the ISL. “I am glad to unite with Kerala Blasters. And I’m keen to meet my new team and begin preparing for the journey ahead

Costa Nhamoinesu has left the ISL to join Polish club TS Podbeskidzie. The 35-year-old player played 16 times and scored two goals for the Blasters last year, which wasn’t an indicator of a great season.

ATK Mohun Bagan

Bidyananda Singh joined ATK Mohun Bagan. The Mariners have signed the 23-year-old midfielder on a deal for one year.

ATK Mohun Began also agreed to the contract extension with Carl McHugh. The Irish midfielder will stay with a club for another season.

Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC has signed a 25-year-old Congolese Prince Ibara that represented Ligue 2 side Chateauroux on loan from Belgian First Division A side Beerschot. “I’ve won a fair few championships and titles in the clubs that I’ve played for but I feel India and Asia is the next challenge for me,” Ibara commented.

FC Goa

FC Goa decided to extend the contract with their star Glan Martins. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a new contract for 3 years with FC Goa following his exciting appearance in the last ISL season.

Sydney FC has signed defender James Donachie who has recently played at FC Goa. “I’m glad to be signing for Sydney FC and can’t wait to get underway for the new season. I know quite of a few of the guys already, so I’m sure won’t have problems joining in and I look forward to bringing to this club’s incredible list of success,” Donachie said after joining the club.

Chennaiyin FC

Midfielder-attacker Rafael Crivellaro extended his staying in Chennaiyin FC (CFC) signing a multi-year contract. “Last season, injury kept me away, and now I can’t wait to return with the team and give it everything on the field,” Crivellaro commented the contract’s extension.

SC East Bengal

Anthony Pilkington has left Indian Super League team SC East Bengal. The 33-year-old striker has lately played for several English clubs and joined EFL League One side Fleetwood Town in England. The club has signed Anthony Pilkington with a one-year contract.

Hyderabad FC

Hyderabad FC has approved the contract extension with the 32-year-old midfielder Joao Victor till the end of the 2022/23 season. “I am excited to keep my stay with the club and be a part of this amazing family,” said Joao Victor.

I-League

Sreenidhi Deccan

Sreenidhi Deccan FC kept signing players to their team during the past week. The club has contracted Samad Ali Mallick from SC East Bengal. The full-back will add more confidence to the greener players, who are preparing ahead of the upcoming season.

Gokulam KeralaGokulam Kerala announced a contract with Shoib Akhtar who earlier played for NEROCA FC. The defender joins the club after losing such players as Deepak Devrani and Jestin George. Akhtar has signed a multi-year deal with the outfit.
