Glenn Maxwell walked in and immediately began bowling. However, an arm ball from Jadeja foxed him, and his innings ended on 26 off 11. In the eighth over, CSK could have had their fifth wicket as well. Choudhary’s diving attempt at deep midwicket, however, failed to produce the intended outcome, and Suyash Prabhudessai was able to survive.

Choudhary, in an unusual turn of events, lost yet another routine catch presented by Dinesh Karthik off Theekshana. The Sri Lankan captain, on the other hand, got his fourth off the following ball, rushing Shahbaz and clearing him up for 41 off 27 balls. Following the easy deaths of Wanindu Hasaranga and Akash Deep, the in-form Karthik provided RCB with a glimmer of hope by clobbering 34 in 14 balls. But it wasn’t enough; Bangalore had fallen far behind schedule.

Dube, Uthappa lift CSK to 216/4 vs RCB

Dube and Uthappa featured in a brilliant third-wicket stand of 165 as CSK posted an impressive 216 for 4 after being sent into bat by RCB. After losing a couple of early wickets, Chennai crawled to 60 for 2 at the halfway stage. However, Dube and Uthappa launched a brutal assault on the Bangalore bowlers in the second half. While Dube hammered five fours and eight sixes, Uthappa clobbered four fours and nine maximums.

CSK’s start was not promising, with Ruturaj Gaikwad (17) being stranded lbw by Josh Hazlewood. He requested a replay, which revealed the ball was clipping the stumps. Following a magnificent diving stop by Prabhudessai, Moeen Ali (3) was run out. In the next few overs, Uthappa and Dube managed a couple of boundaries, but RCB was definitely in command. Dube hit Hasaranga for a six and a four in the 11th over, reversing the momentum. When offie Maxwell came to bowl the 13th over, Uthappa easily dispatched him for three maximums.
